Maldives President Mohamed Waheed arrived here today on a two-day official visit, Government Information Department said.

This will be President Waheed’s first trip after being elected on February 07 this year.
President Waheed will meet his Lankan counterpart and hold discussions this afternoon.

The visiting President is also expected to meet the Sri Lanka – Maldives business communities and will also pay tribute to the War Heroes Monument in Sri Jayawardenapura, Kotte.

During his trip, President Waheed is to share details of the report by Human Rights Commission of the Maldives about the events of February 6-8, PTI reported.
