DFDL Mekong legal and tax advisers held a workshop in Vientiane for Indian businesses.
Indian investors are increasingly seeing the investment potential of Laos and business cooperation is steadily growing. DFDL Mekong legal and tax advisers last week held a workshop in Vientiane for Indian businesses in Laos to discuss opportunities here and the potential for further investment.
The workshop, titled ‘Doing business in Laos: an Indian investor’s perspective’, was attended by more than 20 Indian companies based in Vientiane. The firms have interests in various sectors such as banking, agriculture, industry and electronics.
Speaking at the event, Indian ambassador to Laos Mr C. Gururaj Rao said“Laos and India have been developing closer cooperation and more Indian business operators have been coming to do business in Laos recently.”
“This is a good opportunity for Indian businesses in Laos to learn more about the possibilities, and we hope to have more investment here.”
The seminar was given by several DFDL representatives: Senior adviser, Regional M&A Practice Group, Head of India Desk, Vinay Ahuja; Managing Director Laos Mr Brennan Coleman; and Regional Director, Tax and Customs Practice Group, Mr Jack Sheehan.
