Emerging markets firm Leopard Capital has successfully exited its entire investment in Cambodian mineral water company Kulara Water to the company’s founding shareholder.

The transaction harvested an undisclosed profit for Leopard Cambodia Fund, the firm said. It provided Kulara with venture financing and operational support, enabling Kulara to complete its factory construction and refine its business plan. More…

New power generating capacity project to start this year Reply

Energy Minister Phillip Paulwell announced today that construction of facilities for new electricity generating capacity for Jamaica will begin this year.

Addressing the issue of the high cost of electricity in Parliament this afternoon, Paulwell said that following a failed bid process, the Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) had received unsolicited proposals for 14 discrete projects from five entities.

Those, he said, have been evaluated for firmness of the proposals, overall price and impact on retail prices, timeliness of implementation and overall feasibility. More…
